GET SET, GO! The first ever Game Changer Awards are now open for entries

Tuesday, 29 October sees entries open for the 2014 Game Changer Awards; a unique opportunity to be part of the excitement and build-up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and to be recognised for the contribution you are making. Every college and higher education institution in Scotland is eligible to take part and entries are open for just over three months, from 23 October to 31 January 2014 to give you plenty of opportunity to consider your application.

With close to 500,000 students and 50,000 staff in our colleges and higher education institutions in every corner of Scotland we know that there are some amazing people out there in our sector, setting the bar high for themselves athletically and academically, pushing sporting, creative and intellectual boundaries and taking the opportunity presented to Scotland by the Games to deliver a lasting legacy of an active, flourishing, connected and sustainable Scotland.

Speaking about the Awards Paul Zealey, Head of Engagement at Glasgow 2014 said:

“Glasgow 2014 is committed to ensuring a learning and skills legacy from the hosting of the Commonwealth Games and colleges and universities across Scotland are very important partners to us”.

“The creation of the Games Changer awards is an excellent way to both recognise and celebrate the varied ways in which colleges and universities are contributing both to Glasgow 2014 and to Scotland’s success as a sporting nation”

Winners will be presented with their awards at a prestigious awards dinner at the Old Fruitmarket, Candleriggs, Glasgow in front of their peers, senior members of the Scottish Government and Parliament and Glasgow 2014.
