Good luck to everyone that entered the Game Changer Awards. Shortlisted entries will be announced later this month.

If you have any questions please get in touch: info@gamechangerawards.org

Our strength as further and higher education sectors in Scotland comes from our great diversity. We aim to surprise and amaze the judges with the range of projects, activities and programmes that are taking place.

The judges are looking for demonstration of impact but whether you are able to demonstrate this on a great – even international – scale or your efforts have made a meaningful difference in the life of one person we are very keen to hear from you.

All the information about the Awards and how to enter can be found in the Awards Prospectus.

1 – Check your eligibility

All publicly-funded colleges and higher education institutions in Scotland are eligible to enter. Institutions are invited to submit multiple entries to a maximum of three entries per institution for each award category.

Entries are welcome from individuals, from groups or entire institutions; from staff and from students. However, all entries must have the approval of the college or higher education institution’s Principal.

Entries should focus on impact and provide as much detail and facts as possible to substantiate your statements. Entries can relate to projects that are not due for completion until after the date of the awards ceremony on Thursday 3 April 2014.  In such cases the entries should provide details of expected outcomes and impact.

Entries must be completed using the Awards Entry Form and submitted below. An email receipt will be issued for each entry received. The closing date for entries is 5.00pm on Friday 31 January 2014.

In addition to the criteria specific to each award, the judges will be looking for evidence that clearly demonstrates a commitment to and/or delivery of the legacy goals and underpinning principles of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games for every award category.

The four legacy goals are:

  1. Active
  2. Connected
  3. Flourishing
  4. Sustainable.

The five principles that underpin each legacy goal are: enabling diversity; ensuring equality; enhancing partnerships; encouraging community engagement; and embedding sustainability.

Further information on these legacy goals can be found on the Glasgow 2014 website and Scottish Government’s website.

It may be that your project or initiative is eligible to be part of Legacy 2014. Legacy 2014 supports non-commercial organisations running projects, events and activities that are inspired by the Commonwealth Games and help to get people involved.  Find out more and apply via the Legacy2014 website.

All entries to the Game Changer Awards should conform to the following:

  • The submission should relate to new or enhanced activity in place after 1 October 2012.
  • All entries must have the approval of the Principal of the college or higher education institution.
